Message Synopsis
You Shall Receive Power helped us better understand who the Holy Spirit is and what His presence means in the life of a believer.
The Holy Spirit is not an “it,” an emotion, or simply something we experience during a church service. The Holy Spirit is a person, and the Holy Spirit is God. Jesus described Him as our Helper who would dwell with us and be in us.
The Holy Spirit is still active today. Every believer in Jesus has the Holy Spirit, and His work extends far beyond what happens during a Sunday Experience. He leads us, convicts us, directs us, forms us, and empowers us to become more like Jesus.
Acts 1:8 tells us that we receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. That power is not simply for an emotional encounter; it enables us to be witnesses for Jesus and live in a way that reflects Him.
Pastor Jordan reminded us, “Whatever fills you forms you, and whatever forms you will flow from you.” When we allow the Holy Spirit to fill and lead our lives, His character should increasingly flow through us.
The Holy Spirit is not someone believers should fear. He is our Helper and an advantage God has given us as we follow Jesus.
