We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and the foundation upon which we build our lives.
Message Synopsis
Built For It began the We Believe series by establishing where our beliefs must start: the Word of God.
It is possible to say we believe something without allowing that belief to change the way we live. Pastor Jordan challenged us to move from simply stating what we believe to being shaped by what we believe. If God's Word is truly our authority, it cannot simply be something we agree with on Sunday; it must become the foundation that directs our decisions, relationships, thinking, and everyday lives.
Scripture does more than inform us. According to 2 Timothy 3, it teaches, corrects, instructs, and equips us to live like Jesus. The message reminded us that foundation determines fruit. Whatever we build our lives upon will eventually show up in what our lives produce.
Jesus illustrated this by describing two people who built houses—one on rock and one on sand. Both experienced storms. The difference wasn't who encountered difficulty; the difference was what their lives were built upon when difficulty came.
Being built on God's Word doesn't mean storms won't come. It means that when they do, we have something strong enough to hold us. When God's Word is effectively working in us, we are built for it.
